2021 has been a real tough year, and has progressi

2021 has been a real tough year, and has progressively gotten worse as the months have gone on. My last post was a glimmer of hope that we had turned a corner but I was wrong. We seem to be stuck in a rut.

Crochet is my escape from the world but lately there has been so little time for that escape. My head is elsewhere and I cannot immerse myself in my crochet the way I once could. Being creative isn’t something I can do well while I’m lost in thought of other things. It makes it impossible to lose myself in my art.

I feel sad that I haven’t been able to take custom orders or restock my shop or post my makes on social media but the thought of people waiting on things and me not being able to deliver makes it so much worse.

As a result of all of this I have made the decision to close The Misty Toadstool for the next wee while. I really hope you will all stick around for when I’m able to be back and doing what I love again.

Hello 🍄

Just a short post to say hello, and let you know that I am here and you can look forward to far more regular posting in the near future.

Things are still very much all over the place here but instead of waiting for things to settle (it’s not looking likely!) I’m going to decrease the amount of projects I take on and keep going.

This dress was part of a very special first birthday order along with the Humpty Dumpty in my last post.

Little Humpty left me yesterday as a very unique gift for a first birthday. Life things are very slowly reaching a more manageable level so I’m looking at August as being back to normal and running properly again.

The sun has been MIA for a wee while now so I’m

The sun has been MIA for a wee while now so I’m sharing an image of blue skies, far out tides and a very cute little octopus! This gorgeous little guy left me a couple of weeks ago and I was rather sad to see him go; there’s a lot to be said for a smiling octopus being sat on your desk, especially one posed in a sailors hat! He has been lovingly named Captain Cephalopod and as this was for a very new little person he is completely without a wire frame and is CE tested to be safe from birth. He was a wonderful make who made me smile, especially when I realised I had only given him seven legs!! Yip, really… Which led to a lot of undoing and recreating.

Here is a little Misty Toadstool update.

There are a lot of ‘at home’ things that need my full attention just now and as a result I haven’t been getting time to crochet anywhere near as much as I usually would. Tonight was the first time in ten days I saw my craft room, and even then it was on a FaceTime call to get the things I was needing as I have very stupidly broken my ankle and can’t do the stairs 🙈

I have two orders, one ready to be wrapped and another waiting on a yarn delivery which seems to be taking forever. My website has nothing available at the moment which I apologise for. I am also not taking any custom orders at the moment until I have cleared my previous orders. Any questions, messages or requests will still be responded to as quickly as possible.
