Happy New Year!
I’ve spent a lot of time in my craft room since we returned from our winter break, finishing off projects, attaching my new labels and getting some much needed me time.
I’ve been feeling a need to take some time just for me, which is not always easy in a house full of people. There’s been so much planning over the last five months, I feel like I’ve been looking forward so much that I’ve had no time to just enjoy the present. I have made the conscious effort to take five minutes each day to just breathe. I’ve never been one to do things like this but I’m enjoying it. Whether or not it’s linked, I don’t know, but my productivity has increased. I’m trying it along with a product called Neom, a lovely scent that rains over you as you close your eyes and just breathe; so simple and, apparently, effective.
I’m also planning well. I attended a course last August with Josephine Brooks in Edinburgh and it has paved the way forward. So, instead of ploughing forward in every direction, I create myself a three-month map of direction and do my very best not to get lost. (If only I could achieve this skill when driving the car!).Progress with The Misty Toadstool is coming on well. I have my first six items for the shop named and with product descriptions. Now if it could just stop raining I could get out and get some photographs…
My nephews’ wardrobe is filling up with crochet goodies (as is his crib). His mummy oversaw as I set up a little photoshoot of him wearing his new red Tiptoe Through the Toadstools booties, he was good as gold.

He’s just started to make little noises, like a little ‘oooh’ after he sneezes. Funny all the little things you forget as your kids get older. I’m enjoying taking it all in without the sleepless nights.
What’s on the hook?
While watching The Great Escape last night, I got started on a ‘Longing for Lilac’ Roux Rabbit; lovingly named after my nephew who got the first one with his initial on the front.

What’s just off the hook?
Tiptoe Through the Toadstool booties in a range of colours. All completed with a little button attached.
What’s next?
I’m wanting to get started on a blanket. A good thick one for the couch. I can’t think of anything I would rather do on an evening than get cosy in front of the fire, pull on a chunky blanket, and just unwind with a good cup of coffee. If not starting a blanket then a deep crimson Dreamy Dragon. Just need to make sure the eldest doesn’t see it or it may end up living amongst her plants like the last one I made.

Well, after thinking it was too soon in the year to have much to say, it appears I had plenty to pour out onto the page. As I’ve written my coffee cup has emptied, so I’m off to boil the kettle.
See you all soon,
